Three cups of hot coffee from the bag - A different take on “Coffee to Go”

One-way coffee machines

Only lightweight luggage.   This is the rule for trekking tour and camping enthusiasts. Those wanting to also enjoy freshly brewed coffee without grind in the middle of nowhere and miles away from any Starbucks & Co. but not prepared to carry a coffee machine should take to a product idea from Denmark – the Grower’s Cup. Here the finished coffee comes right from the bag – without any extra filters or pot.

The underlying idea?

When Danish designer Ulrik Rasmussen was confronted with the problem of missing coffee filters one morning he wanted to do away with this problem once and for all while creating a fast and favourite alternative to cumbersome brewing at the same time. It took the Grower’s Cup nine years of development time to come to market.
Thanks to a built-in filter system and heat-resistant PE coating the Grower’s Cup supplies two cups of ready-to-drink coffee right from the bag.

Not only coffee can be brewed and poured using this bag principle; it also works with tea.
The handy packaging in PE-coated paper features an opening at the top to pour in boiling water. In a chamber the water mixes with the ground coffee contained inside and drips through a specially developed filter device into the lower chamber. The special bag has a capacity of 300 millilitres – and is therefore perfectly suitable for two cups of fresh Fair-Trade coffee.
