Organic boom also for confectionery

Organic products are capturing the supermarket shelves. Confectioneries, chocolate, pralines, bisquits and savoury snacks in organic quality are very much in trend as well. However, organic has not really reached the confectionery shelves yet. Only a few sporadic umbrella brand offers are available right now. The assortment could, however, with more depth and breath – yield substantially better turnovers and good returns.
In the past few years, new and interesting developments in the organic sector in all segments of the confectionery industry have taken place. The number of companies having organic confectionery as part of their assortment is steadily growing.
In general the following applies: The organic wave continues its rapid upward course. In the meantime in Germany, for example, almost every second Euro in food retailing is spent on organic products – thus advancing it to the biggest channel of distribution for organic products. The most important reasons for this are the inclusion of organic products into the assortment of almost all food retailers and the expansion of existing organic assortments. In the future, confectionery - and the manufacturers of the compatible machines - will certainly profit from this.
