Dutch students visit interpack

26/03/2008

About fifty students from the NVC Chair Packaging Design and management at Twente University, Enschede (The Netherlands) will visit the upcoming interpack in Dusseldorf next april. They will be accompanied by their professor, dr.ir. Roland ten Klooster as they have to work on specific topics of the Packaging Design and management curriculum which is concluded by a presentation of their results. The Dutch students have to design a feasible packaging method for a combination of a food product and a non-food product, for instance tea with teacups or nuts with a nutcracker. In this context, they have to take the complete supply chain into account and have to use the latest design techniques, both structural and graphical.

The NVC Chair Packaging Design and management was founded by the Netherlands Packaging Centre to create a unique place for research and education in the field of industrial design and packaging. NVC is the only association of companies addressing packaging throughout the supply chain of packaged goods. The association was founded in 1953 and now counts more than 500 member companies. NVC finances the Chair at Twente University and also arranged the entrance to and stay of the students at the interpack.
