UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2008: 24,000 trade visitors go to Moscow
26/03/2008
24,000 trade visitors attended the leading Russian trade fair for packaging technology, UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA, which took place in Moscow from 29 January to 01 February 2008. Packaging is regarded as being hugely important in the manufacturing and marketing of products – something which has also applied to the Russian market, with its 145 million inhabitants, for a long time. Companies which offer product and market oriented packaging, from the packaging itself to machines and systems for the manufacturing of packaging benefit from this development.
In particular in the area of food and beverage products and in the cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industry, demands for high quality packaging continue to grow. The Russians are considered to be demanding business people who appreciate high levels of quality and are also ready to pay a little more for it. Resealable packaging is on the rise and modern packaging designs are becoming more and more important. The best conditions, therefore, for national and international manufacturers to invest in the expansion and modernisation of existing systems and in packaging materials. Innovative providers have the best chances of success in this region.
The UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2008 was held by the Dusseldorf trade fair and its subsidiary trade fair, Düsseldorf Moscow OOO, in co-operation with the Italian organisers Centrexpo. In 2009, the specialist international exhibition for the manufacture of packaging, packaging machines, confectionery machines, packaging lining, packaging aids and logistics will take place from 27 to 30 January.
