Marchesini Group acquires Neri

Complete packaging line supplier Marchesini Group has acquired 100 per cent of Neri SpA, a leading manufacturer of machines which apply self-adhesive labels to a wide range of products.

Italy-based Neri has partnered Marchesini Group for more than 30 years but now becomes part of a group with more than 9,000 lines installed worldwide and annual revenues of approximately €200 million ($278m). Neri posted revenues of €24m ($33.3m) in 2007 and has 160 employees.

Neri initially made machines for washing and sterilising bottles during the 1970s before extending into labeling machines for a wide range of products, including vials, ampoules, cartons, bottlepacks, mascaras and lipsticks.
