“The crisis is yesterday news – looking to the future with optimism is now what counts” – was the “creed” of the speeches delivered at the opening ceremony.
Welcoming the numerous guests present Chairman of the Board of Directors of Messe Düsseldorf Asia Erhard Wienkamp underscored the outstanding importance of the two events for the Thai and Asian industry. He made it clear that Thailand has now risen to be one of the three biggest exporters of plastics and packaging for processed food.
Commenting on the developments in the packaging industry Kashem Yaemvathithong, President of the Thai Packaging Association, made an optimistic statement. Similarly positive were the statements made by the representatives of the Thai Plastics and Packaging Industry Associations.
Mr Witoon Simachokdee, Director General of the Industrial Department and Incoming Permanent Sectretary of the Ministry of Industry, delivered the opening address as a guest of honour highlighting the great importance attached to TIPREX and PPI in Thailand. Simachokdee used the opportunity to point out the very comprehensive economic stimulus package currently initiated by the Thai government and the resulting favourable investment climate.
