Company Profile

ROMACO Group
System solutions for packaging & processing
The Romaco Group, headquartered in Karlsruhe (Germany), provides innovative packaging and processing technologies for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and chemical industries. The engineering specialist develops, manufactures and markets system solutions for a wide range of industrial applications: primary and secondary packaging, sterile liquid and powder filling as well as processing equipment for solid and semi-solid forms.
The company operates from four European locations in Karlsruhe and Neuenburg (Germany), Rheinfelden (Switzerland) and Bologna (Italy), and is divided into two business areas for Packaging and Processing. Romaco serves customers spanning multiple industries with a total of seven brands. The Bosspak, Noack and Siebler product lines are located at the headquarters in Karlsruhe, while the packaging brands Macofar, Promatic and Unipac are all manufactured in Bologna. The Processing sector, represented by FrymaKoruma, resides in Neuenburg and Rheinfelden.
Around 450 staff support, and supply to, customers in more than 130 countries. Some 100 international agencies are also committed to supporting the Romaco team. All in all, more than 50,000 machines and systems built by Romaco are in action around the globe. Romaco has been wholly owned by the NYSE listed US group Robbins & Myers, Inc., Dayton (Ohio), since 2001. In fiscal 2009, the Romaco Group recorded sales of approximately 84 million euros.
The Romaco Group's core competencies include Noack blister machines and Siebler heat-sealing machines for manufacturing strip packaging. Bosspak counting technology for filling tablets and capsules into vials is another important segment along with Promatic cartoners and case packers as well as the Unipac tube filling systems. The Macofar brand comprises lines for filling liquids, powders and capsules. FrymaKoruma rounds off the product portfolio with mills and processing equipment. Any combinations of the above technologies are possible – either as lines or as complex production units – depending on the requirements of the application.
