The Caritape product family is a small, non-woven product, specially designed for lighter duty applications.
While polyester yarn is the main product used for its fabrication, other cord materials are also popular for specific applications; heat resistant/insulating fiberglass, recyclable paper, heat shrinkable polyester, cotton, Kevlar and carbon fibers.
Caritape (heat shrinkable polyester tape) is used for many different kinds of insulation, holding & securing and there are substantial savings compared to woven or braided tapes, ribbons or steel strapping. Caritape is approved and used by many Transformer Manufacturers providing higher strength and cost savings in labour. It replaces braided tapes, cotton and sisal twines, and is superior in handling and knotting.
Woven is designed to eliminate splitting and to remain perfectly easy to work even in extreme cold. Contrary to steel banding, woven straps will not rip when nicked.
Extremely versatile in its applications, more and more woven type Caristrap is sold worldwide. It comes in a variety of strengths (from light duty to special/extra heavy duty), and in several widths and coil sizes.
Fiberglass Tape (commonly know as Weftless) employs electrical grade, continuous filament yarns and is used for securing insulating barriers to windings of transformers. Weftless fiberglass tape can and does replace conventional woven materials combining high strength with excellent insulating properties, and outlives the life of the transformer.
Since Caristraps inception in 1954, we have grown steadily and have earned key positions in many markets, due to our ability to develop versatile and cost competitive solutions in strapping systems that respond to ever changing customer requirements.
Today, our products are being used around the world and patents in several countries protect many of our inventions. Our facilities include a highly integrated factory, proprietary machinery, development and testing laboratory.
We are proud to be the first non-metallic strapping to be approved by AAR (Association of American Railroads) and the first to achieve ISO 9001 Certification. Since then, we have pursued our commitment to continuous product improvement. Indeed, as part of the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), we have worked, with other members, to develop and improve worldwide standards within our industry.
The Caristrap family is proud to celebrate 60 years in business and from this point we are the most experienced manufacturer in the world of cord strapping.
