At the end of 2019, the Flensburg mill of specialty paper manufacturer Mitsubishi HiTec Paper was recognised for its exemplary company integration management. The company received a prize of 10,000 euros from the Aktionsbündnis Schleswig-Holstein and the Integration Office of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, among other things for the exemplary design of workplaces for people with severe disabilities.
Achieving 3.9 out of a possible 4 points, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper is one of the two award winners in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to the integration management, the focus is also on prevention. This includes health days, subsidies for individual health-promoting measures and employee surveys. The company exceeds the legal requirements for the employment of people with severe disabilities with a quota of six percent.
During a ceremony Sebastian Schulze (Managing Director of gefas e.V. and UVNord e.V.) and Francesca Heine-Götz (Deputy Head of the Integration Office in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Youth, Family and Senior Citizens of the State of Schleswig-Holstein) presented the award to the employees Melanie Hallmann (Integration Management Representative) and Svenja Bendixen (Inclusion Representative).
"We are very pleased with this award," said Reiner Sieck, General Manager Human Resources at Mitsubishi HiTec Paper. "We will use the prize money for further forward-looking and sustainable campaigns in the areas of inclusion, health and prevention."
