Sparc Systems launches “Pioneering” X-ray inspection system

Sparc Systems will launch its “pioneering” 250 Iris pipeline X-ray inspection system at this year’s Interpack Show, in Dusseldorf, May 4 – 10.

The first public airing of the system comes after testing was successfully completed with Esro Food Group, and comes with some industry firsts, the company claims.

It’s key points of difference, are:

·       Continuous testing of contaminants – minimal / less down times

·       Improved validity of contaminant testing – maintains same speed

·       Patented self-sealing X-ray tube

·       Tool-less cleaning and part changing

·       X-ray with consistent density

·       2D matrix coding for authentication of testing

David Buckley, managing director for Sparc Systems, said: “We have now completed a successful and significant testing period so we are confident to bring this pioneering system to market with some modified improvements upon the original.

“The key driver for the meat industry is that for the first time testing can be done in real time and with absolute minimal down time.

“This means improved throughput, greater productivity and of course less product rejection, waste and improved profitability. It is designed to quickly and simply integrate into an existing rigid or flexible pipe system. Robust quick release fittings allow for disassembly, cleaning and reassembly in a matter of seconds.”

The Iris addresses the unique requirements posed by pipeline production and complies with stringent HACCP protocols.
