Reitech SA, a company founded by Dr. Kurt A. Koerber in 1963 under the name Hauni South Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd., was the second overseas branch of the German Hauni company. Hauni South Manufacturing initially built special machines, components and spare parts for the South African tobacco industry. Dr. Koerber employed a young engineer Franz Reiss and he became the new owner of the company in 1995. Shortly after establishment, the company name was changed from Hauni South Manufacturing to Reitech SA.
In the meantime Reitech SA has since grown to a company with 50 employees. Focusing on South Africa, Reitech SA supplies machines to well-known companies in the food, consumer goods and tobacco industries in the sub-Saharan countries. Today Reitech SA is an acknowledged specialist when it comes to packaging and end-of-line automatisation.
