RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO, CANADA, April 25, 2022 - MapleJet, a leading brand and supplier of high-quality inkjet printers for coding and marking, has unveiled its latest innovation in inkjet printer technology, which uses a fully automated bulk active ink system designed to reduce operating costs and perfectly suited for high-volume production applications.
The
Hx Ultro Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) printer revolutionizes the printing process by enabling millions of messages to be printed with a single TIJ cartridge in one uninterrupted print cycle. The printer is available in two models. Hx Ultro-HR is a high-resolution model with a standard projection distance designed to print codes on flexible packaging. It prints high-resolution codes, similar to TTO printers, and machine- and scanner-readable 2D barcodes.
The Hx Ultro-HT model has an extended projection distance with standard resolution for production lines currently using CIJ printers that require a longer projection distance and operate at high speed in continuous mode. This model can print at a greater distance from the substrate, up to 10 mm, which is perfect for sloped or recessed surfaces, such as can bottoms and bottle edges.
The Hx Ultro's bulk ink dispensing system (patent pending in the U.S.) is the industry's most compact active ink system, with several volumes of ink reservoir packaged in a custom cassette for easy ink changes, minimizing line interruption. This reduces TIJ's cost per print, paving the way for using this printer for high-volume production. In addition, the Hx Ultro's unique ink supply system, consisting of precise adjustment of ink pressure and accurate ink delivery via a pump, has improved the reliability required for these applications over all other bulk systems on the market.
"In recent years, TIJ printers have successfully replaced many of the applications served by CIJ and TTO printers, especially in the small production sector, due to their small size, ease of use, and low maintenance. However, medium and large production sectors have not found the TIJ suitable because of the small ink tank size, which makes the price per print high compared to CIJs and TTOs," says Haroon Naveed, MapleJet's sales manager.
"However, MapleJet's R&D team brought together the unique features of CIJ printers, such as the bulk ink supply system and high throw distance, and those of TTOs, such as high-resolution printing, in these two thermal inkjet printer models. That's why we are proud to launch the Hx Ultro, which we can essentially consider the 'hybrid category' of printers in the market," he adds.
The Hx Ultro's advanced technology is integrated into a small industrial aluminum housing, making it easy to install the printer on production lines. Built-in smart wifi simplifies the printer's daily operation, helping operators reduce human error. All printer operations, such as message layout, adjustment of line parameters, and real-time production monitoring, are managed from any smart device through a web application called Hx Manager. This feature is particularly beneficial for large production sites with multiple printers, as it allows all Hx printers to be controlled from a single wifi console.
Homayoun Shahrestani, CEO of MapleJet, said, "We are witnessing the evolution of Industry 4.0, with technological advances making digital transformation of the shop floor a reality. This, in turn, has made it possible to monitor and control production and packaging machines in real time to collect data and use it to optimize production processes on the shop floor, leading to higher quality products while reducing production costs."
"The Hx family of printers is designed according to Industry 4.0 standards specifically for the coding and marking industry to meet future market demands. As such, Hx Ultro offers a number of benefits to our customers in line with their evolving needs, which are in the progression of factories toward smart factories," he concluded.
