EyeC, a leading vision technology company, will unveil at Interpack (Hall 11, Booth F50) two new solutions to help companies cope with rising quality expectations on printed packaging.

The first one, the EyeC ProofRunner Carton Retrofit is a retrofit module that converts practically any existing folder gluer into the perfect inspection solution for folding cartons. To remain in the market, packaging producers had until now just a unique solution: buying a new folder gluer equipped with inspection technology. A huge investment. Now, they have a new and much affordable alternative: retrofit their existing machinery.

The EyeC ProofRunner Carton Retrofit is a self-contained unit which is integrated between the folder gluer’s feeder and the pre-folding section, adding only 400 mm (16”) to the overall length of the machine. Its high performance vacuum belt guarantees safe handling of all cartons as well as their proper alignment. The EyeC ProofRunner Carton Retrofit inspects the entire carton surface, including the flaps. It uses the folder gluer’s existing ejection device to reject any defective item, and provides a full inspection report at the end of every job. Even when operated at an unparalleled inspection speed of up to 500 m/min (1,600 ft/min), the EyeC ProofRunner Carton Retrofit detects the smallest defects.

The second innovation presented at Interpack is the EyeC Proofiler Content: a complete PDF proofing system for monitoring artwork changes during the design, revision, approval, and prepress processes. Based on a new technology, the EyeC Proofiler Content is the first system in the market that inspects the entire content of an artwork in a single operation: live and outlined text, graphics, layout, barcodes and Braille. It helps companies securing their artwork files and speed up approval processes. It is, for instance, the perfect solution for food producers who must adapt their packaging to comply with the EU´s Food Information to Consumers Regulations (FIC) by the end of 2014.

At Hall 11, Booth F50, visitors to Interpack will also have the opportunity to take part in some live demonstrations of the EyeC Proofiler 400 and the EyeC Proofiler CS: two offline inspection systems aimed at improving the quality of printed packaging. The EyeC Proofiler products digitally compare the first samples from the printing machine or the samples from incoming goods against the customer´s proof, making sure that the customer always get exactly what they expect. Quality conscious companies and print shops that want to keep up with high demands know where they have to go!
