OCME has simplified format changeovers, with a new solution based on reading a Bar Code.
The system, which is currently running on Vega HT shrink-wrap packers, is also available for other OCME machines. The operator has simply to use a PDA with a Bar Code reader, to have a clear view of the steps to follow to achieve the correct format change.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The PDA interfaces wirelessly with the main operator panel to ensure a very clear and easy data exchange.
The operator has only to point the PDI on the Bar Code and read the procedures shown on its screen. The PDA will display also the work in progress and the next steps to follow.
On the main control panel, a view of the machine layout shows every position of the regulation points, where the operator finds the Bar Codes.

For added safety, the data displayed on the PDA is registered also on the main operator interface.
