Dr.-Ing. K. Busch GmbH

Busch Group at the interpack 2026: Process reliability and efficiency for food and pharma

Maulburg, March 12, 2026 - The Busch Group will be presenting innovative solutions for increasing efficiency and process reliability in the food and pharmaceutical industries at interpack in Düsseldorf from May 7 to 13, 2026. Visitors to Hall 5, Stand D05, will gain insights into modern vacuum and testing technologies from the Busch Vacuum Solutions and Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions brands.

Robust vacuum technology for demanding processes

DOLPHIN liquid ring vacuum pumps from Busch Vacuum Solutions ensure a stable vacuum supply even under challenging conditions - for example in the presence of moisture, steam or product residues in the pumped medium. Thanks to their functional principle, they are particularly tolerant of changing process requirements and are suitable for reliable continuous operation with high gas loads. They are extremely robust, easy to maintain and have high vapor and particle compatibility. In addition, they require only minimal amounts of fresh water thanks to their water sub-circuit and are suitable for clean-in-place cleaning processes.

These features make the DOLPHIN the ideal solution for the safe processing of pasty or liquid-rich products such as creams or toothpaste. Users benefit from reduced downtimes, low maintenance requirements and high system availability.

Energy-efficient rotary vane technology for the packaging industry

With the R5 rotary vane vacuum pump, Busch Vacuum Solutions offers a reliable solution for the food and packaging industry. It is compact, robust and ensures reliable vacuum generation even with high cycle rates or variable packaging formats. Variable speed control allows the pumping speed to be flexibly adapted to requirements, resulting in reduced energy consumption and lower operating costs.

Intelligent control systems network several vacuum generators to form a complete system, automatically provide the required power and enable continuous monitoring of the operating status. If these systems are designed correctly, they not only ensure an optimum vacuum supply, but also make an important contribution to increasing productivity. This increases system availability and process reliability - crucial factors for sensitive products such as food, beverages or pharmaceutical packaging.

Testing technologies for packaging integrity

Packaging integrity testing is becoming increasingly important, especially in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions' testing technologies are based on optical emission spectroscopy and enable highly sensitive detection of even the smallest leaks in non-porous packaging systems without the need for special test gases. The test system uses the existing gas mixture in the cavity of the primary packaging as the analysis gas and delivers precise, quantifiable results for transparent quality assurance - both in the laboratory and in automated production lines.

Digital services increase transparency and availability

Digital service solutions such as OTTO complement the hardware and enable predictive maintenance by analyzing operating data. This reduces unplanned downtimes and sustainably improves the efficiency and availability of packaging lines.

The Busch Group will be presenting its technologies live at interpack 2026 in Hall 5, Stand D05. The spectrum ranges from the robust DOLPHIN liquid ring vacuum pumps and the energy-efficient R5 rotary vane vacuum pumps to the highly sensitive testing systems from Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions. All exhibits illustrate how efficiency and process reliability can be increased in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
