Danone North America relies on Claranor Pulsed light decontamination for its Dairy Free product “So Delicious”!
Danone chose Claranor cup decontamination solution to protect the high quality of its So Delicious yogurt.
Indeed plant-based yogurts are very sensitive to contamination, mainly mold. The decontamination of the cup is therefore mandatory to avoid any risk of cross-contamination and ensure product shelf-life. Pulsed Light thanks to large spectrum of wavelength and high pick power flashes offers high level of decontamination on packaging and is very efficient especially on mold contamination.
In 2015, Danone’s plant in Dubois, WY, integrated a Claranor cup decontamination module on a filling line of “So Delicious” yogurt. The specifications were to achieve a 4-log reduction on Aspergillus brasiliensis on 2 cups formats.
Since then, the machine is running well as explained by Douglas School, Senior Corporate Engineering, Danone:
“The claranor machine has been running on our filling line for 8 years and we're happy with its reliability. Non-dairy products are very sensitive and thanks to Claranor we can maintain the quality of our products with a high level of decontamination. IMS, Claranor's exclusive distributor in the USA, helps us with general maintenance of the machine, which is very highly appreciated.”
We’re very glad of this collaboration with Danone North America.
In 2026, 135 Claranor cup decontamination machines are running worldwide. They are chosen for their decontamination efficiency but also their sustainable advantages. Instant treatment, with no water, no chemicals and very low energy consumption, they are a cost-efficient alternative to any other decontamination solutions.
