Today, we proudly celebrate eighty years since Fernand and Alice Habegger officially registered Habasit Technical Office in Basel on March 1, 1946. What began as a small Swiss business has grown into a global belting company, driven by innovation, the dedication of our colleagues, and the trust of industries around the world.

Throughout the decades, Habasit has shaped industrial motion with key advancements such as the development of the world’s first synthetic conveyor belt, global expansion into more than seventy countries, breakthroughs in 4-meter-wide‑belt calendering, and continuous progress in sustainability and smart product innovation. 

This anniversary is a moment to recognize what truly drives our progress: people and partnerships.
