New collaborative robots with high payload and TMflow software from OMRON

The automation experts at OMRON Robotics and Safety Technologies have added three new models to their portfolio of collaborative robots in the TM S series. Another new feature is a comprehensive software update that helps manufacturers to respond to the shortage of skilled workers and growing demands for flexible, highly variable production. The TM30S, TM20S and TM6S models extend the payload and reach capacities of the TM S-Series for applications such as palletizing, machine tending and precision handling.

New models in the TM S series

  • TM30S: 30 kilogram payload model designed for heavy-duty collaborative tasks such as palletizing and machine tending.
  • TM20S: 20 kilogram payload model that offers greater reach for medium to high payload tasks.
  • TM6S: 6 kilogram payload model with long reach optimized for precise handling, welding assistance and integration with mobile robotics.

Improved hardware

OMRON has implemented targeted improvements across the S-Series to increase longevity and ensure faster reuse. All robotic arms are now IP65 rated for use in water-washed or dusty environments. Higher payload devices (TM25S, TM30S) have an integrated force-torque wrist sensor for improved force-controlled processes. The updated Landmark 2.0 vision-based positioning system has been developed to reduce recalibration time when moving robots between stations.

TMflow 2.22 software

In addition, OMRON has released TMflow 2.22, an update to its no-code programming environment. The new version offers detailed safety configuration options, advanced remote monitoring and diagnostics, and a highly accurate simulation engine. Optimized and integrated image processing tools make it possible to perform inspection and pick-and-place tasks even more precisely than before.

"With the introduction of the TM30S, TM20S and TM6S, as well as important upgrades such as IP65 certification and the integrated six-force torque sensor, we are enabling our customers to automate their most demanding heavy-duty tasks more safely, precisely and flexibly than ever before. TMflow 2.22 ensures that this immense power remains easy to program and manage, underscoring our commitment to harmonious automation," says Qiqi Wang, Global Product Manager at OMRON Robotics and Safety Technologies.
