State subsidies are once again available for electric cars - but did you know that electric boilers are also subsidized?

Electric steam generation in industry is becoming increasingly important in the course of the energy transition. However, many companies are unaware of this: Attractive government subsidy programs are currently available for electric steam boilers - with grants of up to 45% of the investment costs. Especially against the backdrop of rising CO₂ costs, regulatory requirements (e.g. 44th BImSchV) and growing sustainability targets, investing in an electric steam generator is becoming particularly interesting from an economic perspective.

How high is the subsidy for electric steam boilers?

The amount of state funding for steam boilers depends on the size of the company:

  • Small companies (< 50 employees): up to 45% subsidy
  • Medium-sized companies (50-249 employees): up to 35% subsidy
  • Large companies (≥ 250 employees): up to 25% subsidy

These funding options significantly reduce the investment sum - and the payback period is considerably shorter.

Why is electric steam generation worthwhile for industrial companies?

Modern electric steam generators for industrial applications offer numerous advantages:

  • Very high energy efficiency
  • No direct CO₂ emissions during operation
  • Flexible integration into existing boiler systems
  • Low maintenance requirements
  • Ideal complement to renewable energies

In combination with state subsidies, electric steam generation is becoming a central building block for the decarbonization of steam generation.
