The 25th Daegu International Food Industry Exhibition opens at EXCO.

225 companies, 426 booths, export consultations, and a food joint pavilion

The 25th Daegu International Food Industry Exhibition (K-FOOD EXPO 2025), a leading event in the Korean food industry, opened on the 3rd and will be held at EXCO in Daegu for four days until the 6th.

This year's event is considered one of the top three food exhibitions in Korea, and with the recent surge in popularity of Korean food products, fueled by the "K-POP Demon Hunters" craze, interest from overseas buyers is growing.

▶Global enthusiasm for K-food ↑

This expo, featuring 225 companies and 426 booths, will bring together domestic and international participants and buyers to share the excitement for K-food. With growing global demand for Hallyu staples like tteokbokki and gim (seaweed), regional companies like Youngpoong and Samcheop Bunsik (CGF) will participate to explore export markets.

This year's exhibition, selected as a government-funded project, has seen increased buyer participation, significantly expanding opportunities for participating companies to expand their global presence.

▶Differentiated Joint Pavilion and Exhibit Composition:

The unique operation of the joint pavilion is also noteworthy. The Daegu Chicken and Beer Industry Association, Moonlight Joint Pavilion, Dalseong Sanghoe, the Small and Medium Business Food Tech Association, and overseas participants will collaborate to showcase diverse food trends in one place.

In addition to the agricultural, fishery, livestock, and forestry products, processed foods, organic and health functional foods, liquor and beverages, and dessert industries, this year's exhibition also saw a significant increase in participation from food machinery companies. Notably, Heins, Sunkyung Industrial, and Young Tech Pack are participating, and the exhibition has expanded to include food industry infrastructure sectors such as packaging, processing machinery, and smart factories.

▶ Strengthened Export and Purchase Consultations

This year's exhibition has significantly strengthened its export and purchase consultation programs to generate tangible results for participating companies.

The export consultation session for overseas buyers will feature the participation of 66 overseas buyers, provide FDA and FSSC certification support, and provide logistics consulting. The domestic distributor (MD) purchase consultation session will feature domestic buyers from approximately 20 distributors, including large supermarkets and online malls.

Son Tae-sik, head of EXCO Exhibition Hall 1, emphasized, "Last year, nearly half of the participating companies signed contracts or had additional meetings after consultations."

The exhibition hall features a Smart Food Tech Hall, a Food Automation Equipment Hall, and an AI-based Production Technology Hall, offering a glimpse into the latest trends in the food industry. Furthermore, events such as a School Lunch Nutrition Seminar and an FDA Response Strategy Seminar will provide a platform for industry-academia-government cooperation.

Participatory programs such as on-site tastings, stamp events, and receipt events will also be held, providing a rich experience for both industry professionals and general visitors.

Jeon Chun-woo, CEO of EXCO, stated, "With the popularity of Korean culture, overseas demand for K-food is rapidly increasing. This year's exhibition will see the largest number of overseas buyers and trading companies participating to date, leading to substantial export results and expanded sales channels." He added, "We will do our best to establish Daegu as a global food industry hub." (
