Bremerhaven, November 14, 2025 – symex GmbH & Co. KG was awarded the 1 "LOSGRÖSSE 2025+" Innovation Prize and honored at the "Innovator of the Year" gala evening at the Hilton Hotel in Berlin.
The prize recognizes outstanding companies in the custom manufacturing sector that have implemented their products or projects efficiently, sustainably, and in an exemplary economic manner. This year, the Network for Custom Manufacturers (ife) recognized five companies for their innovative solutions. “It is gratifying to see that German medium-sized companies continue to hold an important pioneering position worldwide – with innovative products that are created in customer-specific designs and genuine single-unit production ‘Losgröße 1+’,” said Ulf Sieckmann, Managing Director of symex GmbH & Co. KG.
With this award, the jury recognized symex's patented "Industry 5.0 Digitalization Concept," which sets new standards in the process industry. The technology enables seamlessly networked, flexible, and highly automated production of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products – including cough syrups, ointments, eye and nasal drops, creams, makeup, and much more. Five technically coordinated modules raise the bar for process reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and maximum flexibility to a completely new level.
The modular architecture allows for flexible combination of functional modules. These include:
With its patented Co-Twister homogenization technology, symex set new standards in mixing technology over 25 years ago. This was followed by numerous further developments that made manufacturing processes for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products faster, more reproducible, and more hygienic. With its "Industry 5.0 digitalization concept," symex is now taking the next major step: fundamentally revolutionizing mixing technology and raising it to a completely new level in terms of efficiency, quality, and safety.
The awards ceremony was accompanied by expert presentations and laudatory speeches from recognized experts and entrepreneurs from medium-sized businesses. The central message of the evening: German SMEs can only maintain or strengthen their competitive position through innovation, inventiveness, and technological leadership. “This is exactly what motivates our employees to contribute ideas and unusual approaches – because sometimes you have to ‘reinvent the wheel’ to continue writing success stories,” continued Sven Haushahn, Managing Director of symex GmbH & Co. KG. The official award winners page: https://www.innovator-des-jahres.com/innovator/symex-gmbh-co-kg
