The machine manufacturer Meypack is presenting a case packer for high-speed applications at the interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf from May 8th to 14th, 2014. The VP 531 system packs cans of milk powder with re-sealable plastic lids into wrap-around cases with external top flaps. Many new technical developments enable gentle product handling, high reliability and ergonomic operation. Visitors can also view this efficient system live in action in hall 14 at stand A30.

Meypack’s VP 531 wrap-around case packer is based on the continuous packaging process on one level. The machine reaches an output of up to 60 cycles per minute while convincingly carrying out product distribution in an extremely gentle and pressure-free manner. The operators profit from Meypack’s re-designed full visualisation on the new PanelView Plus 1500 operating panel from Rockwell Automation. Additional advantages are offered by the centralised lubrication points and ergonomic loading of the blank magazine. Maximised operating time is made possible by the expanded magazine capacity and the integrated Fulfill adhesive system, which enables long-lasting supply of the adhesive. Furthermore, Meypack has optimised the format changeover process by integrating motorised adjustments. The switch cabinet installed on the machine saves space in the production facility and shortens the cable paths. Meypack offers diverse monitoring systems to provide quality control assurance for this high-speed machine on exhibit.

Hygiene-friendly design
The case packer was built according to the Meypack’s CleanDesign® Construction Principle. To meet the needs of the food and beverage industries, the machine is easily accessible and very easy to clean using either wet or dry cleaning techniques. In addition, maintenance of the system is extremely easy due to the open design.
