Gift packaging for wine is not only popular as wrapping for others but also enhances the customer journey. This is why emotions are the motto of the new gift packaging line launched by Karl Knauer KG – a product line that feeds on the touch of real wood.
Those buying their wine from a vintner direct may be lucky and get their wine bottles presented in a nostalgic wooden crate. A very similar touch but with significantly less weight comes care of Karl Knauer KG’s wine gift box. The new “Holzkiste Rustikal” (rustic wooden crate) design is given a rustic charm by details that are true to the original. The box is available for wine gifts with 1, 2 or 3 bottles but is also ideally suited for presenting so-called craft beers. Separate inlays make it possible to combine bottles with craft-beer glasses; but the packaging is just as suited for many other bottles such as crémant.
The company Rackpack also scores with a natural touch by launching a real-wood packaging edition for wines. The range boasts numerous packaging solutions including products awarded with innovation prizes.
“Rackpack Original” actually looks like an ordinary crate for wine bottles but comes with several holes in it. Consumers only grasp what these holes are about somewhat later. At the flick of a wrist the crate turns into a wine rack for three, six or a maximum of twelve bottles of wine. “The idea for Rackpack was born when I was given a high-quality bottle of wine in a wooden box. After unwrapping it I realised what a shame it would be to simply dump it. So I decided to give this classical wooden crate a second life as a wine rack. This was the foundation for Rackpack Original and its “sisters”, explains designer Tom Schouten.
Somewhat playful but especially handy is “Robox”. The wooden robot houses a bottle of wine in its belly. And if you remove the little board from the back of this wooden companion and place it on the robot’s adjustable arms you get a nice board to arrange some quality cheese on.
Cheese was also what spurred the developers of the “Say Cheese” version. The lid of the crate turns into a rugged bamboo cutting board in no time. The crate holds either two bottles of wine or wine and cheese. Ideal for a picnic break is the handle added to the sliding lid.
The “Waycooler”, which can be converted into a wine cooler thanks to a solenoid-based folding mechanism at the drop of a hat, is especially suited for white or sparkling wines. An insulating cork layer keeps the temperature of the contents pleasantly low. And those not yet “seeing the light” are well-advised to get themselves a Rackpack “Wine Light”. In a few simple steps the wine crate can be converted into a decorative wooden luminaire thanks to a built-in lamp socket and textile-coated red power supply cable. All products are made from FSC-certified wood and can be personalised with laser engraving.
