Washing Units WM

  • WM washing units are characterized by their flexibility and high performance. The vials are always processed in one direction to avoid any possible contamination. The containers are transported individually, each held with special grippers that ensure delicate and efficient treatment.

    Output: up to 36,000 uph.

    The washing process of the exterior of the containers is carried out by a set of static nozzles, while vertically moving nozzles wash the containers inside.

    The design has been made in accordance with the cGMP, GAMP and US FDA regulations, and in special compliance with the requirements of the pharma-ceutical industry.

    Pre-washing cycle with ultra-sound bath.
    Sterilization of washing unit with steam.

DT sterilizing tunnels.

Dara Pharmaceutical Packaging offers a wide range of sterilizing and depyrogenation equipment for continuous processing of glass containers such as vials, cartridges, and syringes.

Output: up to 610 kg/h.

Each tunnel is divided into 3 chambers: pre-heating chamber, depyrogenation chamber, and cooling chamber. The vials are transported through the tunnel on the conveyor belt made of stainless steel, towards the filling area.

The thermal cycle is designed to reduce the pyrogens by 3 or 6 Log. A 3 Log reduction means that the vials have been exposed to a thermal cycle equivalent to 15-minute of exposure at a constant temperature of 250 °C. The 6 Log reduction corresponds to a 30-minute cycle.

Automatic adjustment of the gates between the chambers.
Anemometers to measure the airflow’s speed.

High speed filling and closing machines for combined processing of vials and single-use syringes.

The syringes are supplied ready-to-use (RTU), in trays called Nest & Tub, already sterile and ready for filling. Thus, neither washing nor sterilization is necessary. The vials may be also supplied ready-to-use (RTU) or in Bulk. If provided in bulk, they are previously processed through a washing unit and a sterilizing and depyrogenation tunnel.

The design has been made for use in sterile areas, in compliance with cGMP and US FDA regulations, and in special accordance with the requirements of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Output up to 24,000 uph.

Dosing and weight control:
The filling station can be equipped with valveless rotary piston pumps, made of stainless steel or ceramic, or with SpeedFill® peristaltic pumps for liquid products, and with vacuum-pressure fill guns for powders.

When using CIP / SIP construction elements, it is not necessary to remove the product contact parts for their cleaning or sterilization.

The 100% weight control of vials and syringes is performed without reducing the speed of the equipment, using electronic weighing scales. The scales structure is integrated into the machine in such a way that the machine’s vibrations do not influence the precision of the weighing process.

Dosing volumes from 0.1 to 250 ml. for liquids, and from 2 to 1,500 mg. for powders.

The closing station is equipped, depending on the required speed, with either 8 or 16 tangential rolling heads which work continuously and ensure reliable crimping and minimal particle generation during the closing process. 

When processing syringes, the plunger insertion is done mechanically or through vacuum.

Dara Pharma and Telstar join efforts for an Indonesian project

It is a vaccine production project for tuberculosis
The close collaboration between Dara Pharma and Telstar, two of the companies with the greatest projection in the market of technology for the pharmaceutical sector, has allowed to launch a project of special relevance to produce vaccines BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) in Indonesia. These types of vaccines are used mainly for the treatment of tuberculosis and for some kinds of cancer.

The scope of the project includes the design and manufacture of a complex integrated multi-technology “state of the art” equipment. It is a new automatic filling system integrated with processes of sterilization, containment and freeze-drying of product that is characterized by being more compact than usual -by which gives more space for the automatic loading system- and it is designed to be accessible only by one side. It also incorporates CIP / SIP technology into the volumetric dosing system. Vaccines are manufactured in sterile environments with minimal human intervention to prevent possible contamination, which implies solutions such as RABs technology or isolators.

One of the main challenges that Dara and Telstar have successfully overcome in this project has been to locate a totally automated solution confined in an isolator in a limited space. This is a technical challenge attainable to few suppliers due to the high degree of innovation and flexibility required. On Dara Pharma’s side, the model based on the modularity of assemblies allows a greater adaptability than the traditional filling lines and, regarding Telstar, its capacity of continuous innovation in automated vial loading systems offers a range of possibilities that helps the adaptation to the demands of the costumer.

The proximity of both companies and their extensive experience in high complexity projects of have made possible a project that will improve health care in one of the most populated countries in the world. The established cooperation model has resulted in new joint projects and close international collaboration to provide tailor-made solutions in high-level sterile environments.
