Product category: Complete lines for the Production of extrudes snacks
FULL DIRECT EXTRUSION PROCESSING LINE
Direct extrusion is the process in which grits (for example corn) are forced through a die plate into the final snack-shape, and flavourings are added to produce a tasty snack.
Extrusion process: MIXER: In the mixer the raw materials are mixed and brought to the desired moisture level. The mix is then transferred to the extruder hopper by means of a screw feeder. A level indicator ensures that the extruder does not run empty.
EXTRUDER: In the extruder the raw materials are pressed through a die plate using high pressure build-up by the screw and high temperature created by shear between sleeve and screw. The pressure drop at the die plate causes the snack to expand and the face cutters set the desired snack length and mass. Unique to Lalesse Extrusion is the fully water-cooled extrusion process.
DRYING + COATING: After extrusion the snacks are dried for extra crispness and for shelf-life, next they are coated with slurry; a mixture of oil and flavour powder. Coating takes place in the rotating coating drum and the slurry is made on demand (continuously) in the Lalesse Extrusion flavour equipment.
BUFFER SILO: Now the snacks are ready to be packed. This is best done immediately. It is recommended that a buffer silo is installed between packing equipment and processing line, mainly to overcome the differences in operational speed.
The brand name Lalesse exists already since the 1950s, when Mr. Lalesse started a small metal shop. Lalesse started to make screws and sleeves and at request built an extruder around this. It did not take long before complete lines were manufactured and sold all over the globe. Over the years much technology has been gained; all customers run equipment differently, make a different snack, and have other preferences.
Lalesse Extrusion engineers the equipment to meet the highest standards in the industry. This is always done by building tailor-made equipment. The most important is what our customer requires, not what we as a manufacturer want to sell. Tailor-made is not only an outside design, but mostly an internal aspect, for example certain computer controls, use of specific electronics, special safety regulations, etc. Also important is testing the equipment before it is exported. The required product is made at our well-organized test lab. Also teaching customers how to operate the equipment in our lab is a possibility. In 2006 Mekelenkamp Holding took over Lalesse Machinebouw, at that time situated in Arnhem, a place where many customers came to visit us. Since then the company moved to the city of Huissen, in the close vicinity of Arnhem. We are easy to reach by public transport and airports are nearby. Please come and visit our modern production facility. Over the many years of our existence Lalesse served hundreds of customers all over the globe, you can find Lalesses presence in over 60 countries.
