Ate Plast OOD was established in 1994 in Stara Zagora under the name of Agrotradeengineering OOD. The company started producing polyethylene films in 1997 and began to increase gradually both its production capacity and the markets for its goods. In the first years of its existence, the company sold 70 percent of its products mainly inGreece and the other Balkan countries, and the production was basically agricultural films.
In 2003 Agrotradeengineering OOD made a strategic investment buying a modern five-layer line for coextruded films. This machine, which was then unique for Bulgaria allowed the production of coextruded films from LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PP, PA, EVON, etc.
So, from a leading manufacturer of agricultural films (Agrofol) and shrink films (Termofol), the company switched to the production of packaging and gradually began to make its way to the markets of some Western European countries like Hollandand Germany.
The new trends and markets were a major catalyst for changing the company name as well. Thus, in 2006 the company was officially renamed to Ate Plast OOD.
As a rapidly developing company, Ate Plast OOD is well aware that new investments and upgrading is the formula for success, which underpins the prosperity of a company. For that reason, in 2008, in view of the increasing consumption of packaging, the company made another investment and purchased a modern high capacity three-layer extrusion line. Its design ensures high and consistent product quality.
Today Ate Plast OOD holds a firm position as one of the biggest and leading manufacturers of polyethylene films in Bulgaria. The company work mainly for export, its share being 80% of the overall production. Thanks to continuous upgrading of equipment and quality improvement, the company is capable of meeting efficiently the needs of industries like food, construction, glass and chemical industry, cosmetics, powders and detergents, medicine, garden and agriculture, etc.
Despite all success achieved so far, Ate Plast OOD continues to move forward through updating its knowledge and technology as well as to improve quality of both its production and its work process.
