Zalkin Delivers a Price and Performance First at Interpack with the Introduction of the Moderately Priced TM300 Integrated Filler/Capper

DÜSSELDORF – Zalkin, powered by Pro Mach, introduces the moderately priced TM300 FILLCAPP, a single-head stand-alone capper with integrated filler at Interpack, May 4-10, 2017, in Hall 14 at Stand E31. This compact machine conserves valuable packaging line floor space as it eliminates the need for a separate filler, conveyor, and capper.

A single-station TM300 FILLCAPP can automatically fill and cap up to 30 containers per minute (CPM) and up to 60 CPM for two-station models. This cost-effective, rugged machine features quick changeover, fast clean-in-place, and superior fill accuracy for brands and copackers in the food, beverage, spirits, personal care, home care, automotive, and chemical industries. Ideal applications include small volume containers ranging from energy drinks to mini bottles of distilled spirits to travel sized personal care products to extracts, condiments, oils, and much more. The price point and productivity of the TM300 FILLCAPP can lead to a fast return on investment.

The TM300 FILLCAPP delivers precision filling – rated between +/- 0.25 to 0.5 percent of volume for a wide range of product viscosities. Filling nozzles support:
  • Top-fill for light to semi-viscous liquids with and without particulates
  • Bottom-up fill for semi-viscous to viscous and light, foamy liquids
  • Level overflow for light products with fill to level
  • Top-fill/ball valve for large particulates
A host of filling measuring devices are available, including volumetric pump, Coriolis mass flow meter, magnetic flow meter, net weight scale, overflow nozzle, and piston. There is a zero-drip vacuum collection system and inclined top deck with gutters and drain. A single handwheel adjusts height for both capper and filler for fast changeover.

The capping system features a cap head with hysteresis magnets and easy setting for torque and top load. Changeover of cap chucks does not require tools. The TM300 FILLCAPP has an integrated cap elevator and sorter and the small footprint monoblock incorporates within its compact frame a filling table, liquid supply tank, cap handling systems, human machine interface (HMI), and electrical and pneumatic panels. The welded 316L stainless steel frame enables long years of service and a stable low-vibration platform for filling and capping.

The TM300 FILLCAPP applies screw, roll on pilfer proof (ROPP), and push on caps for greater versatility and flexibility. It fills and caps glass as well as plastic bottles and accommodates container diameters up to 128 mm (5 inches). It can also be integrated with other systems, including induction sealing.

“The TM300 FILLCAPP is the first integrated filling/capping solution at up to 60 CPM with this price point and extensive feature set,” said Pro Mach Bottling & Capping Group Senior Vice President Doug Stambaugh. “The TM300 FILLCAPP is the first in a series of solutions slated to come from the new Zalkin global one-stop-shop for inline and rotary capping machines ranging from 15 to more than 1,000 CPM. This continuum of machines stretches from Beltorque models for low to high speed pharmaceutical applications and Pack West models for low to moderate speed food, consumer, and industrial applications all the way to the highest speed Zalkin capping solutions.”

For more information on the new TM300 FILLCAPP and the Zalkin global one-stop-shop for quality inline and rotary capping machines, contact Zalkin in Europe at +33 1 4139 0304 or in the Americas at +1 706-549-3300. You can also visit Zalkin online at www.Zalkin.fr.

Pro Mach Launches in Europe the Revolutionary 180-Bag-Per-Minute Matrix Morpheus Vertical Form, Fill, and Seal Machine

DÜSSELDORF – The Pro Mach Flexible Packaging Group introduces to the global packaging industry at Interpack, May 4-10, 2017, in Hall 14 at Stand E31, the up to 180-bag-per-minute Matrix Morpheus vertical form, fill, and seal (VFFS) machine. The Flexible Packaging Group also introduces in Europe the up to 150-bag-per-minute VFFS Matrix Apollo and showcases the operating and versatility advantages of FLtècnics horizontal forming, filling, and sealing (HFFS) pouch machines.

Both the Morpheus and Apollo feature a small footprint to conserve floor space, high speed for greater throughput, Beckhoff PC-based architecture for high-speed motion control, and PackML compatibility for fast start up and ease of operation. Utilizing the latest technology, which slashes the cost of servo motion, Matrix incorporates its proprietary AutoPro servo controlled axis adjustment technology as a standard feature on the Morpheus and as an option on the Apollo. AutoPro helps to reduce changeover time compared to similar machines by at least 50 percent.

AutoPro automates adjustments as fine as .025 mm (.001 inches) on each of nine mechanical axes. AutoPro archives adjustments as recipes and replicates those settings on command, giving brand owners and contract packagers the ability to run a wide number of stock keeping units (SKUs) on the same line for greater flexibility.

Morpheus and Apollo machines can run films that require longer dwell times for effective sealing, making these machines ideal for frozen food applications where polyethylene films are utilized. An Apollo with polyethylene optimized jaws for individually quick frozen foods (IQF) applications will be featured at the TEEPACK exhibit in Hall 11 at Stand E53.

FLtècnics horizontal forming, filling, and sealing pouch machines are built for lowest cost of ownership, offering minimized material consumption, long wearing parts, and highest overall productivity and flexibility. Pro Mach showcases FLtècnics technology at Interpack.

DÜSSELDORF – Pro Mach debuts at Interpack, May 4-10, 2017, in Hall 14 at Stand E31, the company’s expanded line of capping solutions – inline and rotary capping machines – under the global Zalkin brand. In addition to Zalkin leading-edge capping machines for moderate to high speed production, the new Zalkin one-stop-shop for capping machines offers rugged, cost-effective NJM Packaging Beltorque model inline capping machines for the pharmaceutical industry, and similar quality Pack West model inline machines from Pacific Packaging Machinery for a host of consumer and industrial applications.

“Customers now have one point of contact for sales and support for a continuum of solutions that involve Zalkin, Beltorque and Pack West model capping machines,” said Doug Stambaugh, Bottling & Capping Group Senior Vice President. “With this new breadth of offering, Zalkin can recommend the best solution for the application and price point. Products sold under the Zalkin brand are designed and manufactured to delight operators and plant managers for years with the machine’s quality, performance, and cost effectiveness.”

Machines on display at Interpack

Zalkin introduces at Interpack the new TM300 FILLCAPP, a single-head stand-alone capper with integrated filling capabilities that can fill and cap up to 30 containers per minute (CPM) and up to 60 CPM for two-station models. This automated filling and capping machine is designed for production runs requiring both quick changeover and fast clean-in-place capability. The unit is ideal for space constrained operations because it eliminates the need to have a separate filler, conveyor, and capper. Zalkin is also showing a standalone TM series single-head capping machine. The TM series is suitable for sealing, screw-capping, and push-on capping at rates up to 60 CPM. Also available are roll on pilfer proof and pump capping solutions.

Visitors to the Pro Mach booth will see a Beltorque model inline capper for the pharmaceutical industry. Beltorque models feature high quality, precise cap tightening. With the use of synchronized belts, these versatile and innovative machines reach specified torque without cap scuffing. A single control for torque adjustment speeds setup and changeover. Beltorque models can operate at up to 300 CPM and handle screwing caps on almost any type of bottles. These machines can also be used in snap closure and retorquing applications. Hundreds of Beltorque machines are in service around the world.

Since the 1970’s, Pack West model capping machines have been used in both screw-on and press-on applications. Pack West inline model automatic spindle cappers are rugged and versatile, and they support cap sizes up to 135mm without the need for cap or container handling change parts. Visitors to the Pro Mach booth will see the Pack West model quill system in operation. This system utilizes independently adjustable clutches for gentle and reliable torque control. For caps that require an induction seal, inline retorquing units are available.
