ValiDoc PRO

The hawo ValiDoc PRO is the new documentation, labelling and packaging system for safe and professional reprocessing of medical devices in hospitals as well as doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries. Regardless of whether it’s sealable pouches or reels, wrappable sterilization sheets or reusable containers, this system assists medical professionals meet the packaging inspection and labelling requirements. It includes sterilization control using a process indicator along with a formal approval as well as documentation for the patient’s file.

ValiPak PRO sealing device
The centre piece of the ValiDoc PRO system is the validateable ValiPak PRO sealing device (hd 680 DEI-V, Version 3.0 and higher). Together with the ValiScan barcode scanner (hawo IntelligentScan Technology), the sealing device is linked to the ValiPrint label printer via the PrintBox print server. No additional computer peripheral equipment is required to record important packaging information and print it onto a label. The sealing device monitors critical process parameters (sealing temperature, contact pressure and sealing speed) and alerts the user when any deviations occur. If sealing parameters are in order during the sealing process, then this is printed on the label (sealing parameters okay). If one of the parameters is not in order, then a label is printed with information corresponding to the error display. The packaging may not be used.

Integrating all packaging systems
If wrappable sterilization sheets or reusable containers are used, the system can be notified after the required visual inspection whether or not it has passed. Depending on the result of the visual inspection, a label is printed with the corresponding note. The packaging may not be used if an error is detected. All required information such as batch number, name of the packer, product information or various expiry dates is simply transferred to the PrintBox via the easy-to-use ValiScan barcode scanner and an individualized barcode list. This information including the expiry date is printed on the packaging label when sealing is successful or it has passed a visual inspection (wrapped sets or containers). After the instrument has been used, the label can be removed from the packaging and placed in the patient’s file. Other barcodes with batch numbers or batch numbers generated by external systems (e.g. washer-disinfector or sterilizer) can be converted to a barcode readable by the ValiScan barcode scanner via the supplied software or using a smartphone app. This information is then automatically assigned to the batch symbol on the label and printed.

ValiPrint label printer
Together with the practical indicator labels, it also provides helpful instrument labelling that complies with legal requirements. This is because all information previously input and processed is printed on the label and can be attached to the packaging. An HIBC (Health International Bar Code) is printed with all label information as well as process parameters. The integrated process indicator (ISO 11140-1, Class 1) shows whether or not the packaged instrument has already been sterilized. After instruments are used for treatment or operation, all labels can be placed in the patient’s file. This enables you to immediately determine that each instrument, set or container being used has been properly packaged and sterilized. The printer housing has an antibacterial coating and the control panel contains an antibacterial substance tested according to JIS Z 2801.

VeriDoc 2C

The hawo VeriDoc 2C is the new system for safe and professional labelling and documentation of sterile barrier systems in hospitals as well as doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries.

The centre piece of this system is a screenless Printserver made by hawo (PrintBox). Using this compact PrintBox, the data read by the ValiScan 2D barcode scanner (hawo IntelligentScan Technology) is transmitted to the ValiPrint label printer and printed. No additional computer screen or keyboard is required to record important packaging and approval information and print it onto a label. The labels can be used for sealable pouches and reels, wrapped sets or reusable containers. The VeriDoc 2C system is thus the perfect supplements to existing sealing devices.

New for VeriDoc 2C
A second ValiPrint label printer can be optionally connected to the new VeriDoc 2C. This means that 2 printers with 2 different labels (e.g. STEAM and VH202) can be operated with one system. The VeriDoc 2C systems also have a USB port, via which the process data for electronic documentation and tracking purposes or for statistical analysis can be transferred to a USB stick or external hard drive.

Integrating all sterile barrier systems
Regardless of whether it’s sealable pouches and reels, wrapped sets or trays or reusable containers, VeriDoc 2C assists medical professionals to meet packaging labelling requirements. It also includes sterilization inspection using a process indicator along with formal storage approval after a visual inspection, as well as documentation in the patient’s file. After the required visual inspection of the packaging, the system is informed whether or not it has passed by scanning the corresponding Data Matrix code (‘sterile barrier system approved’ or ‘sterile barrier system not approved’). Depending on the result of the visual inspection, a label is printed with the corresponding note. The packaging may not be used if an error (e.g. open or broken seal or closure system) is detected. All required information such as batch number, name of the packer, product information or the expiry date is simply transferred to the labels via the easy-to-use ValiScan 2D barcode scanner and an individualized Data Matrix code list. After the sterilization, the integrated process indicator (ISO 11140-1, Class 1) shows whether or not the packaged instrument has been sterilized. After sterilization, personalized approval can be given for storage using the field provided. After the instrument has been stored and used, the so- called duplex-label can be removed from the sterile barrier system and placed in an appendix to the patient’s file. This enables the user to immediately determine that each instrument, set or container being used has been properly packaged, sterilized and approved for storage. Instead of the approval field, all data can also be displayed as QR code. The data on the label can be easily transferred to electronic documentation systems or patient‘s file in this way.

ValiPrint label printer
Together with the practical indicator labels, it also provides helpful instrument labelling that complies with legal requirements. The following labels are available:

  • Steam (STEAM)
  • Steam / Ethylene oxid (STEAM/ETO) combination label
  • Steam / Formaldehyde (STEAM/FORM) combination label
  • Plasma (VH2O2)
VeriDoc 2C can be equipped with a second ValiPrint label printer. This means that 2 different labels (e.g. STEAM and VH202) can be operated with one system. The printer housing has an antibacterial coating and the control panel contains a tested antibacterial substance.

hm 3010 DC-V / hm 3020 DC-V / hm 3010 DC-VI

The validatable hm 3010 DC-V / hm 3020 DC-V / hm 3010 DC-VI rotary sealers with printer and hawo IntelligentScan are used for the automatic closing of sealable pouches and reels (Sterile Barrier Systems SBS) in hospitals (CSSD) and the medical industry. The sealing process is validatable in accordance with ISO 11607-2 as well as the requirements of the therefrom resulting specifications of the Guideline for the Validation of the Sealing Process.

Functionality
These rotary sealers are distinguished by the ease with which you can navigate your way around the menu and enter data via the colour touchscreen or hs 3000 PC-PT software. Alternatively the systems can be programmed and operated easily via barcode scanner (hawo IntelligentScan).

During the sealing process, the critical parameters sealing temperature, contact pressure and sealing speed (dwell) are automatically monitored. If one of the parameters deviates from preset values, the devices warn the user acoustically and stop the sealing process. The hm 3010 DC-V / hm 3020 DC-V / hm 3010 DC-VI rotary sealers possess various PC interfaces (RS232, USB and Ethernet) for process and batch documentation. The hawo rotary sealing devices guarantee efficient and reproducible packing, especially for large volumes of instruments.

Integrated printer
The hm 3010 DC-V, hm 3020 DC-V and hm 3010 DC-VI have an integrated printer. They can print all normatively requested information directly onto the packaging during the sealing process (symbols according to EN 980). Thanks to the patented FontMatic technology the rotary sealers automatically recognise the width of the sealing material and adjusts the font size to the available space. Printing over the edges is a thing of the past.

Flexibility
The hawoflex sealing system accommodates every material – even gusseted pouches and reels. Therefore a flawless, full-area sealing seam can also be achieved with materials of varying thickness. The unique design of the hawoflex-sealing seam guarantees an optimal sealing safety and seal seam strength.

Ergonomics and maintenance
Work processes in the preparation of instruments should be as simple and comfortable as possible. That is why the unit is designed for the ideal utilization of the work area. Maintenance is reduced to a minimum; worn parts are easily replaceable. The ink ribbon change is simply carried out from the front of the device.
