Our products

Product category: Packaging materials / Polyactid Acid (PLA)

BIOPLAST 200

BIOPLAST 200 is a plasticizer-free and GMO-free thermoplastic material that contains a high portion of natural potato starch. It is suitable for processing by blown film extrusion to produce items that are completely biodegradable. The absence of plasticizer allows BIOPLAST 200 to be easily processed to stable products of consistent quality. The material has an excellent shelf life but will biodegrade readily in an industrial composting environment.

BIOPLAST 105

BIOPLAST 105 is a plasticizer-free, thermoplastic and transparent material that contains a high portion of biologically sourced raw materials. The biobased carbon share of the entire formulation achieves 67%. BIOPLAST 105 is easy flowing and therefore particularly suitable for processing by injection moulding to produce items that are completely biodegradable. The material can also be converted by sheet and blown film extrusion. The absence of plasticizer allows the material to be easily processed to stable products of consistent quality. BIOPLAST 105 has an excellent shelf life but will biodegrade readily in an industrial composting environment.

BIOPLAST 300

BIOPLAST 300 is a plasticizer-free, thermoplastic material that contains natural potato-starch and other biologically sourced polymers. The biobased carbon-share of the entire formulation exceeds 30%. BIOPLAST 300 is suitable for blown-film extrusion applications, specially ultra-light weight films with a thickness of approx. 10 µm. Bags, fruit and vegetable bags, films and mailing films made from BIOPLAST 300 are fully biodegradable and compostable according to EN 13432, and have achieved the OK Compost HOME certification awarded by Vinçotte. The absence of plasticizer allows the material to be easily processed to manufacture products of consistent quality.

About us

Company details

BIOTEC is a leading company that develops and produces sustainable bioplastics made from plant-based renewable resources. The film and rigid application range stretches from refuse and shopper bags to pharmaceutical capsules, including food industry blisters, cosmetics packaging and many other requests from our clients. BIOTEC produces and sells a new generation of customized thermoplastic materials with various functional properties under the brand name BIOPLAST. All products made from BIOPLAST grades are 100% biodegradable.

For the entire BIOPLAST range, the company strives to achieve the highest possible portion of biobased raw material. The range of biobased portions starts at 23% (BIOPLAST GF 106/02), then over 50% (BIOPLAST 500) and as high as 69% (BIOPLAST GS 2189). Even the highest possible portion of 100% is available, BIOPLAST TPS® being the prime example.

With its dedicated research team, BIOTEC is constantly improving the characteristics of BIOPLAST in terms of mechanical and barrier properties in order to meet the requirements of industry sectors such as cosmetics, food, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and others.

In the fast growing market of bioplastics, BIOTEC is a key player that offers a credible and industrial-scale sustainable alternative to conventional plastics, with the objective of significantly reducing the use of fossil-based plastics. With an extensive sales network, covering most European countries, BIOTEC provides the finest customer service and technical support.
