Blister packaging machine with plate sealing

Designed and constructed in accordance with the requirements of the Pharmaceutical Industry and in observance of GMP standards, the CAM blister packaging machine has maintained the principal characteristics which distinguish CAMblisterpackers.

Simplified use and ease of cleaning
The path of the web between the reel and forming material and the cutting station is as short and linear as possible giving the operator full vision and total control of all the principal functions of the machine. The above together with a careful design study which has separated the areas enclosing the mechanicat movements from the areas dedicated to product handling, enable line clearence and machine cleaning upon lot change-over to be carried-out with simplicity and ease. Format change-over can be carried-out by the use of quick release devices, even by unskilled personnel.

Flexibility / versatility
The machine can handle a wide range of forming materials, such as: PVC, PP, PVC- PVDC, PVC-PE-PVDC, ACLAR, PETG, ALLI-PE, ALU-PP and lidding materials such as: ALUMINIUM, ALUMINIUM- PAPER, ALUMINIUM-PAPER-MYLAR, ALUMINIUM-PE, POLYPROPYLENE. Owing to the complete range of feeders available, the machine can handle products such as hard or soft gelatine capsules, round and oval sugar coated pills and coated or uncoated tablets of any shape and in any different presentation

Solid structure and mechanical reliability
Web transfer is carried-out by 4 mechanical grippers, the third of which acting directly on the housings, guarantees (with the use of any type of material) correct positioning of the formed stroke between the sealing station planes. From the cutter (operating without creating crossways waste), blisters are transferred to the connecting conveyor, placed at 90 to the machine. This allows different linkage solutions with the downstream equipment including the possibility to install the blister packaging machine in an environment separate from the rest of the line.

LA: The LA monobloc is the result of a modern design statement to satisfy the needs of a market requiring high performance, ease of format change-over and conformity with GMP norms. The guarantee of easy cleaning and inspection is made possible by the excellent accessibility between the transfer area of the bottles and the machine bedplate. The conveyor frame has been designed in conformity with the sterile environment regulation.

L60: This machine combines the simplicity of the volumetric filling with follow-on movement with the reliability of the rotative continuous movement in closing area. Its two construction versions, with eight dosing units, complete the extreme versatility of this machine, covering very high speed ranges, unreliable for intermittent motion machines, or too low speed ranges for continuous motion machines (which finally result too expensive for the required production needs).

L112/212: Continuous motion rotary machine for bottle filling and capping. With this machine, CAM covers all production requirements for speeds up to 400 pieces per minute. The three versions available with 12, 16, and 24 dosing units, guarantee extreme versatility of the rotary machine. All different types of caps (pressure, screw-on, pilfer proof, pumps, etc.) can be handled, with the possibility to include one or two capping stations, completed by 8 heads for each of these. 

LL: The format-based scroll allows to bring even irregular-shaped bottles into sync, and furthermore eliminates the need for nozzle adjustment. For correct positioning of the bottle mouth, a centering rake is provided, that comes into action before nozzle descent. With the same command, a system is inserted at the end of the dosing phase between nozzles and bottles, for the recovery of eventual dribbles or drops of liquid. All dosing groups are fastened by quick-release “tri-clamps”, that facilitate the dismounting phase.

D100: The acontiuons motion powder dosing machine, has been designed and manufactured to meet the high quality standards required by the pharmaceutical industry and the relevant regulations. All parts in contact with the product are manufactured in FDA-approved material and are supplied together with the relevant certificates. They have been designed in such a way to make them easy to remove, easy to inspect and quickly cleanable. The D100 model features a flexible configuration.

DA: The alternate motion powder dosing machine, DA model, has been designed and manufactured to meet the high quality standards required by the pharmaceutical industry and the relevant regulations. All parts in contact with the product are manufactured in FDA-approved material and are supplied together with the relevant certificates. They have been designed in such a way to make them easy to remove, easy to inspect and quickly cleanable. The DA model features a flexible configuration; it can be equipped with a single or double dosing head and with closing heads able to handle every type of caps used in the pharmaceutical packages (child-proof, pilfer proof, dosing cup...).

AV: The vertical intermittent motion AV cartoner has been designed by CAM offering the user an extremely compact and versatile machine available with short lead time at a reasonable price, which is capable of guaranteeing high performance linked to its simplicity of use and maintenance. The vertical introduction of products makes the AV machine particularly suitable for handling cartons into which horizontal positioning would create problems in guaranteeing the final required configuration inside the carton, or would alter the final presentation. CAM has developed a complete range of automatic product feeding systems responding to any packaging requirement, which can also be installed onto supplied machines.

AVC: The AVC continuous motion vertical cartoner has been designed by CAM to meet the packaging requirements, at medium-high speed of products for which the arrangement into carton and the final presentation could not be guaranteed by horizontal positioning. All movements are controlled by closed-profile cams which have been subjected to surface hardening treatment. This feature, together with the heavy-duty structure, reduce maintenance operations and guarantee machine life for a long time.

PMM: What has allowed the PMM intermittent motion horizontal cartoner to become a significant reference in the packaging sector owes to having maintained the technical solutions which have made CAM cartoners the choice of thousands of end users worldwide, for their reliability and flexibility, without overlooking project updating in requirements.

PG: Featuring a cantilever structure which allows complete separation of the mechanical driven parts and the product handling area, cleaning time on the horizontal intermittent motion PG cartoner is notably reduced, due to the elimination of areas where product residue or packaging material depositing would be inevitable. Carton erection, carried-out by means of an articulated twin blade inserted into the carton ensuring positive pre-breaking, allows low grammage board to be used even when handling square-section formats or cartons with glueing and creasing imperfections.

PMX: This is characterised by an extremely compact layout so that it can be easily integrated in any production site as small as it may be. No detail has been overlooked to provide a state-of-the-art solution for packaging requirements:
• Ultra compact layout
• Great autonomy of the carton magazine, easy to be accessed, loading from the top

PVX: Conceived balcony style, this new horizontal, intermittent motion cartoner makes it possible to achieve speed rates ranging from 100 to 200 strokes/minute. The newly born PVX cartoner is characterised by an extremely compact layout so that it can be easily integrated in any production site as small as it may be.

HV: The operator side of the HV is perfectly linear and accessible, allowing carton magazine loading to be carried-out with convenience and with large carton storage capacity. This feature also gives the operator full vision and total control of all the functions carried-out on the machine. The cantilever structure, separating the mechanical transmission from the product/carton handling areas, guarantees total accessibility for machine inspection purposes and immediate elimination of product/packaging material residue, in compliance with GMP norms. The exclusive carton erection system incorporating a continuous motion 5-station turret, each station separately driven by closed-profile cams for carton pick-off at zero speed.

KO:  The cartoning machine model K0 is designed to guarantee a production speed up to 800 cartons per minute. The cantilever structure and the separation of the mechanical section from the packaging area, make the cleaning and inspection of the machine upon batch change-over easier.
The patented carton erection system incorporates a continuous motion 5 station turret allowing total and progressive carton pre-breaking to be carried-out in a span of time longer than the machine cycle.

SMA80: The semi-automatic casepacker modelSMA80 is the module for collation and arrangement in layers of products of the casepacking system model SM80. This module is equipped with a case support, on which the erected case is placed by the operator. By means of a pneumatic system enabled by the operator, the case support rotates by 90° and turns the case into the mouthpiece.

SM80: The modular casepacker SM80 is one of the most reliable end-of-line machines. The machine has been developed to accommodate complicated applications, for ease of access, and to improve CAMstandards of strength and reliability.

SMP: A new and modern design orizontal monobloc casepacker, for packing products into small and medium sized cases: particularly suited to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food sectors. The machine has been designed paying particular attention to overall compactness, accessibility and ease of format changeover whilst maintaining the usual CAM standards of robustness and realiability.

SMV: To satisfy the demands for vertical casepacking of products which are difficult to handle, for example: bottles, plastics, pots, envelopes and sachets,CAM has introduced the " SMV " top load casepacker. The machine has been developed to accommodate complicated applications.

ZP1: The ZP1 is a palletizer with a closet-type structure and specific toughness and strength characteristics.
The machine has an imbedded PC where all main functions may be viewed, thus allowing data management including records of machine errors and of production. Products are laid out and stacked according to algorithms calculated automatically by the PC according to dimensions of the product to handle. The number of possible product stacking configurations is virtually unlimited. All new models are pre-programmed for remote software assistance.

ZP Easy: This palletizer characterized by its low price, its versatility, and its ability to perform in not optimal working environments. In particular:
• all commands related to grasping head movement and product positioning have been installed on the top part of the machine. This allows the ZP-Easy to lend itself to use in working environments may they have floors that are dusty, wet, or even corroded by liquids;
• injury-preventive protections have been manufactured in steel grid.
Another important characteristic of the machine is its disposition versatility. In fact, various positioning points of the infeed conveyor are possible (linear, or at a 90° angle both on one side and the other of the machine) and, consequently, positioning of the pallet feeder and the electrical cabinet are also variable. This allows the configuration of the machine to adapt itself to all different types of space requirements.

SPZ: The new machine maintains unaltered the qualities of both case packers and palletizers, offering an even more compact layout due to the integration of exit facility for the case in the pallet magazine area.The machine has been designed taking into due account overall dimensions, easy access, easy and fast size change-over operations. The machine is specially suitable for Parmaceutical, Cosmetic and food sectors. The case packing module is fully cantelever structured with clean separation between mechanical and operational groups, the latter comfortably accessible from the operator’s side.
