Bonset PETG Film Grade Descriptions

Bonpet 5A
is a PETG heat-shrinkable film grade combining high overall shrinkage and excellent printability. The favorable film toughness and shrinkage character combine to make a film suitable for a wide variety of container shapes.

Bonpet 6L
is a PETG film having a more moderate shrinkage capability than Bonpet 5A. The film exhibits approximately 30% less shrink force than 5A and a shrinkage curve similar to PVC. Bonpet 6L exhibits a slight amount of machine direction shrinkage which can be advantageous for certain container geometries.

Bonpet 7M
is a high-yield heat-shrinkable PETG film. Bonpet® 7M provides a good balance of opacity and low specific gravity. These properties are achieved by introduction of microscopic voids within the film matrix. Due to the opaque nature of Bonpet® 7M, it must be surface-printed. Bonpet® 7M incorporates an antistatic coating which is on the outside surface of the film roll. The preferred side in which to print Bonpet® 7M is on the inside of the roll as supplied directly by Bonset America Corporation.

Bonpet 8A
PETG film combines high overall shrinkage with significantly reduced shrink force. Bonpet 8A is ideal for applications where reduced contours on the label top and bottom are required (often referred to as smiling). In addition to its excellent transparency, Bonpet 8A offers a machine direction shrinkage curve exhibiting significant growth. This can potentially offer film savings for applications whose sleeve heights are often over-sized due to the inherent MD shrinkage associated with traditional PETG films.

Bonpet 8 Digital
An exclusive PETG heat shrinkable film designed for today's innovative digital printing.  This high-shrinkage co-polyester clear film was developed exclusively for commercial and industrial digital printing presses, with shorter rolls to hand the smaller press specs.  And as with the toughness of any other Bonpet product line, it can be used for tamper-resistant product seals all the way to full-body sleeves produced with the rich color finish digital presses are known for.  B8D utilizes a specifically designed primer coating which imparts excellent printability.  The primer coating is oriented on the outside film of the surface.  In addition, B8D has been certified with the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Bonpet 10
A high overall shrinkage PETG grade, exhibiting a slower shrink curve, reduced shrink force, and MD shrinkage relative to conventional PETG shrink films grades.  B10 incorporates an anti-static coating wound on the outside surface of the roll.

Bonpet 1U
A PETG film possessing the same shrinkage behavior as B10 while incorporating an optical brightening additive.  B1U is ideal for applications requiring tamper-evident capability.  B1U incorporates an anti-static coating wound on the outside surface of the film roll.

Bonpet WI
A moderate shrinkage PETG film offering a PVC-like shrinkage curve. Bonpet® WI utilizes a UV-inhibitor additive to provide protection for the film and container contents from ultraviolet light.

Bonpet 7M (B7M): a PETG HY White Shrink Film

Bonpet 7M (B7M):  a PETG HY White Shrink Film

Designed to enhance your product with a rich, matte finish and pleasing colors, this High-Yield PETG shrink film extends the "paper look" into a full 360° label decoration. The film's crisp white appearance comes from reflectance rather than conventional white ink, making it easy to work with. Fully opaque, this upscale film offers a sought-after alternative to the glossy, clear film currently on the market.

Bonset PVC Film Grade Descriptions

*SRAE is a moderate-shrinkage, general purpose PVC film suitable for a wide range of container geometries and printing methods. Exhibiting ultimate shrinkage values over 55%, SR-AE balances moderate shrinkage and lower shrinkage forces required for many difficult bottle shapes.

*SRHS is a high-shrinkage PVC grade displaying ultimate shrinkage values over 60%. Displaying excellent printability and user-friendliness in the shrinkage tunnel, SRHS is a great choice for a wide range of full-body labeling applications.

*SRUB is a moderate-shrinkage PVC film designed specifically for tamper-evident neckband applications. SRUB combines the moderate shrinkage curve and shrink force of SRAE with the use of an optical brightening additive. When used in conjunction with fluorescence-detecting sensors on filling lines, this permits the end-user to guarantee that a tamper-evident band has been successfully applied to a product.

*SRHSU is a high-shrinkage PVC shrink film incorporating an optical brightener additive for tamper-evident capability. SRHSU displays slightly higher shrinkage and shrink force than SRUB and is appropriate for similar applications with higher shrinkage requirements.

*SRHI is a moderate-shrinkage PVC shrink film designed for applications requiring additional impact resistance and low temperature toughness. Incorporating modifiers, SRHI is especially suited for freezer case environments.

* These products available with or without anti-static coating.

About us

Company details

Bonset America Corporation is a subsidiary of C.I. Takiron Corporation of Osaka, Japan. The Greensboro plant represents the first U.S. venture by any Japanese heat-shrinkable film manufacturer. In the years since its establishment it has become one of the largest producers of heat shrinkable film for the full body labeling industry. The future goal is a world-wide expansion effort to make Bonset the leading producer in the global market. This growth will correspond with local conditions and customer needs. Initial production began with PVC Film often used for labels on small containers and tamper evident sealing. Now Bonset's BONSET®-PVC, BONPET®-PETG, and BONFLEX®-SBS/OPS films are used for printed full-body sleeves for the labeling, bundling, and proofing, of many different consumer products.

Located in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont/Triad area, the plant combines the aesthetics of a natural setting with high-tech manufacturing processes. The geographic location makes it ideal to service U.S. and foreign markets. Ground-breaking occurred in May, 1989, and one year later on May 14, 1990, the first product was shipped. A series of building expansions, including the most recent one in 2008, has allowed Bonset's capacity to grow with the needs and trends of US and Export Markets.

The parent company of BAC is C.I. Takiron Corporation.  On April 1, 2017, Takiron Co., Ltd. and C.I. Kasei Co., Ltd. merged and started anew as C.I. Takiron Corporation.  Takiron (established in 1919) and C.I. Kasei (established in 1963) each grew their businesses, introducing high quality / high value-added products based on their unique technology as general plastic manufacturers, in order to respond to customer needs.  After the merger, the company is gathering its collective strength to expand its corporate scale and business domain.  It aims to become a leading company in the plastics processing industry, through realizing synergetic effects from restructuring its business portfolio and streamlining its management & assets.  C.I. Takiron's products include:

  • Construction materials, such as housing equipment and building materials, floor materials and building decoration materials
  • Environmental materials, such as agricultural materials and civil engineering materials
  • High functional materials, such as industrial plates and electronic components
  • Specialty films, such as heat-shrinkable film for packaging and packaging materials
