Coated Metal Belts

Coated metal belts allow engineers to alter the intrinsic surface properties of a metal belt, tape, or pulley to optimize its performance for a specific function. The engineers at Belt Technologies are able to work with a virtually unlimited range of surface treatment types, including GATORCOAT®, TeflonⓇ, neoprene, and hard coat anodization. Surface treatments can be applied to one or both sides of a metal belt, tape, or pulley via coating, plating, laminating, or bonding methods. Depending on the method of application, the surface treatment can be as thin as 0.0005”.

Metal Drive Tapes for Robotics and Automation Systems

Belt Technologies, Inc. produces metal drive tapes from the same high-quality stainless steel used in its endless metal belts. Unlike metal conveyor belts, drive tapes are not endless; they are open-ended with anchor attachments at each end. Friction Drive Belts

Plain metal belts are created by welding together two ends of a metal tape to form an endless belt. High energy beam welding techniques, pioneered in the space program, form a high integrity butt weld that is extremely strong and smooth.

A Metrak© belt employs a V belt bonded to the inner circumference of the metal belt. This two element belt, which Belt Technologies calls Metrak©, distributes tracking stresses on the V belt rather than on the metal belt, thus maximizing belt life in a forced tracking system.
