LINE EFFICIENCY - Individual product inspection and rejection

To improve the total line efficiency, all products are inspected by the VISION SELECTOR™. The objective of this system is to ‘protect’ downstream equipment, by rejecting products that may cause stoppages (and possibly waste) or require manual interference by the operators.

The standardized VISION SELECTOR comprises an array of 2D and 3D camera’s to inspect the product on the parameters Circumference, Surface, Height, Shape and Position to qualify or disqualify products. Furthermore the VISION SELECTOR features an individual product reject unit.

The VISION SELECTOR system collects data on product quality (defects, over time and over width of belt) and can share this information with your MES system.

The HOUDIJK CAPPER™ is already well known for its overall performance, sanitary design and flexibility for product size and shape. The HOUDIJK CAPPER combines these excellent features with a high capacity, which is the highest capacity for a full width sandwich system available in the market. The HOUDIJK CAPPER can handle up to 5.000 sandwiches/minute, thereby also exceeding the capacity of two 4-lane stencil creamers.

The HOUDIJK MANIFOLD™ is suitable for fat creams, mellow, jam, chocolate or combinations of these. It is able to handle sugar abrasive deposit materials or deposit materials with large inclusions. The HOUDIJK MANIFOLD features NO PRODUCT NO DEPOSIT functionality.

The HOUDIJK CAPPER comes standard in a full option execution to enhance overall efficiency and can be operated by one person only.

For production line capacities of 3.000 – 12.000 biscuits/minute HOUDIJK HOLLAND offers innovative and technology leading solutions, able create slugs and/or piles in connected flowrapping machines or load the same in trays.

The systems generally come with:

  • INFLOWBUFFER™ enabling product buffering to overcome connected wrapper in-efficiencies
  • FLOWMASTER™ product distribution system to serve and distribute the several connected packaging legs

Depending on the nature of the product, different loading systems are available:

  • GRADOMATIC™ slug loading system, able to handle 3.000 products/minute and to build up slugs of products standing on edge with a count range of 5 – 28 and to load these directly into a BOE flowrapper and/or in tray
  • LINEMASTER™ slug loading system for wirecut irregular shaped products, able to handle 1.000 products/minute and to build up slugs of products standing on edge with a count range of 5 – 28 and to load these directly into a BOE flowrapper and/or in tray

SUSTAINABILITY IN PACKAGING

HOUDIJK HOLLAND can load products into different ‘carriers’: in many cases plastic trays, but more and more in carton trays or plastic trays with a top seal (instead of the flowrap), diminishing the amount of plastic used.
