Capper sandwiching machine

The full-width “capper” sandwiching machine is used for the production of sandwiches using round, square or rectangular biscuits. 

Available in short or long versions, industrial or semo-industrial, it can accommodate up to four mobile depositing / capping heads. Dosing of cream, jam, chocolate, caramel, mallow, etc. using spot or layer technology with motion-tracking devices.

No product / no dosing function. Possibility to make triple sandwich (e.g. alfajores), co-deposit with several flavors in one product or different flavors in the same row.

Procys pays close attention to all your production issues (quick size changes, modification of parameters during production), maintenance (strong construction, standard components) and cleaning (hygienic design, cleaning in place).

Industrial version is adapted for continuous production in connection with an oven tunnel.
The machine is directly connected to an oven and installed after the cooling conveyors area. The following operations are completed automatically:

  • Distribution and alignment,
  • Rows & lanes preparation,
  • Rows tilting,
  • Row synchronization with dosing & capping,
  • Dosing of filling,
  • Capping.
Procys defines with you the machine the best adapted to your production:

  • Machine feeding with flat products on the belt or with stacked products via loaders,
  • Dosing via manifold or hopper depending on type of fillings and/or speed,

Injector / Filling machines

Manual, semi automatic or fully automatic products feeding systems. Vertical or lateral injection using one or more injection points. Filling such as cream, jam, chocolate, caramel, or fruit puree for donuts, croissants, cakes, brioches, madeleines, muffins or éclairs. Procys has a full range of filling machines and will discuss with you the most appropriate one to your needs.

After the outlet of oven or fryer, we offer products distribution & alignment, and we manage the synchronization of rows with the injection head. Hygienic design, CIP (cleaning in place), quick product or filling change-overs. Function no product / no injection.


Inline version 
Machine designed with the same width as the fryer or oven. The machine is directly connected to the oven or to the fryer and is usually installed after the cooling area. The following operations are done automatically according to your needs and applications :

  • Distribution, product alignment,
  • Synchronisation with injection unit,
  • Lateral or vertical injection.

Lateral version
Machine with transversal feeding conveyor.

The products are transferred into the injection machine via a bucket conveyor. Depending on the applications, rates and requirements of the customer, the conveyor can be fed:

  • Manually via an operator
  • Automatically via robot or pick & place which transfer product rows in the cavities.

Conveying systems

Procys offers belt conveyors and bends, modular belt conveyors, slat or chain conveyors for plates or moulds, and elevators and troughs for bulk products.

When your products become misaligned or blocked, we can realign and reorganize them into rows. Our systems have the capacity to handle up to 300 products per minute (depending on size and shape of products).

If products are already placed in lanes, we can re-organize them into rows without contact between them by using individual belts. We can identify the exact position of each product, thanks to photocells. 

In addition, we have a system for controlling and determining the necessary corrections for changing the speed of each belt in order to align the products.

We can also merge and diverge products according to your needs:
  • Lane reduction: combining two lanes into a single line without collisions
  • Lane multiplication: distributing products from a single lane to multiple lanes

Stacking systems

Usually the biscuits arriving flat on a full belt are canalized between guides via a channeling board before being stacked. There are two systems for placing biscuits. Procys can help you define the most suitable solution for your production line taking into account the product itself, capacity and application.

The penny stacker offers faster rates and is generally more suitable when there are format changeovers.

The rotary stacker allows working with independent lanes. With this system, biscuits are placed more vertically:

Row distribution & Indexing

Procys makes machines where rows are distributed according to yourcircuit specifications. If products are not transferred after the last distributor, they can be accumulated with the possibility of recycling them automatically. Our systems can handle flows of 10 to 50 rows per minute.

When products arrive in lanes at random, Procys' systems can organize a constant pitch that will allocate precise positions and allow to load the chain of a packaging machine, for example. With this kind of system, products are handled with no contact between products.

Depending on requirements and recipes, it is possible to group products by 2, 3, 4 or 5 (to obtain several products in a single package).

Products can be indexed up to 600 products per minute, depending on dimensions, fragility and other factors.

Demoulding

When leaving the oven, products are in pans or lying directly on the oven belt. Procys proceeds with demoulding row by row or directly pan by pan. Several types of demoulding devices are available, depending on your products and their fragility, using either aspiration or claws.

Buffers

An accumulator allows, for example, to separate the operation of a manufacturing unit from the packaging area. Even if the packaging machine stops, the processing machine can continue to operate with the same capacity. The packaging machines then operate at a slightly higher rate to absorb the accumulated products.

Procys can provide different types of buffers depending on your needs and configuration of the lines. 

Some technologies allow optimizing the space in height or in length, others allow to reorganize the products in the same operation… The key issue is to ensure independent product flow between two machines.

For example, when the accumulator keeps products flat in the belt respecting the same system and can eliminate gaps in production, this application is based on a FIFO (First In First Out) system.

This system is composed of 2 specially designed belt conveyors and a 180° bend installed on a mobile carriage driven by a Brushless motor. The storage capacity is given by the extra transfer length between the shortest and the largest travel, according to the buffer stroke (minimum & maximum position of the 180° bend).

There is no contact to products except the belt. The buffer is suitable to any product sizes without change parts. A photocell detects production gaps and stops the infeed belt until next product row arrive, in order to optimise the buffer capacity.

Dosing system

Packaging

Procys offers different solutions :

Tray accumulator :
The accumulator manages flows between two machines.
For example, it separates the operation of the primary packaging zone from the secondary packaging. Even if the secondary packaging stops, the primary packaging machine can continue to operate with the same capacity. The secondary packaging machines then operate at a slightly higher rate to absorb the accumulated products.

We can provide different types of buffers depending on the needs and configuration of the lines. The principle of the u-shaped accumulator for bare products can be completely considered with pallet conveyors instead of belt conveyors. In this case it is composed of 2 pallet conveyors and a 180° curve mounted on a mobile carriage driven by a Brushless motor. The variation of the accumulation capacity is carried out with the displacement of the curve.

The principle of the U-shaped buffer for unpackaged products can be designed with pallet conveyors instead of conveyor belts. In this case, it consists of 2 pallet conveyors and a 180° bend installed on a mobile carriage driven by Brushless motor. The storage capacity is given by the extra transfer length between the shortest and the largest travel, according to the buffer stroke (minimum & maximum position of the 180° bend).

Tray loading systems :
Creation of product batches using pick and place devices or robots.
For example, three products can be stacked continuously (brown, blue, yellow). Depending on size of product and level of complexity, the system can handle up to 120 rows per minute. Products are picked using either claws or suction and can be loaded onto trays or directly into packaging machines.

When products arrive in a disordered way, the best solution is an automated system of prehension linked to a viewing system in order to locate the position and orientation of each product on a continual basis. The system will then pick and place in tracking mode to rectify the passage.

Online printing with natural ink

Procys provides a printer able to customize your products with an innovative industrial device. The system can print with one or two colors and works with natural based food ink: brown based on caramel and magenta based on red beetroot.

This technology that can be declined in two applications :

1 to 4 rows: mobile device allowing to print from 1 to 4 lanes. This flexible and scalable system can be moved on several lines. It can be installed just prior a flowpack to print just before individual packaging.

5 lanes and more: fixed system installed before or after the oven. There is one print head per product lane.


Innovative & trendy :
Product customization is currently very trendy but the ability to carry it out industrially and in a flexible way is innovative. Our system allows changing the image or the text without any mechanical tooling (controlled exclusively by software).

Differentiation through food printing :
Manufacturers are focusing on differentiation and added value. With printing, there are many applications possible including customization for direct-to-consumer advertising, to deliver a message, to highlight the brand name or simply for fun, etc...

Technical characteristics :
Products positioning is very important. Products must be in the print head axis. Products are detected by photocells and printing is carried out on the fly when they pass under the head without stopping the production cycle.

The machine is controlled from a color touch screen: access to production, maintenance and cleaning parameters.
