C2TX CONICAL TWIN SCREW

Continuous Compression  & Maximum Responsiveness
The intermeshing co-rotating conical screws of our C2TX have a unique profile that kneads the dough mass as it is forced through the barrel.

  • Screw speed can be adjusted from 500 to 1,200 RPM during operation
  • Extremely responsive to process variables such as screw speed, recipe moisture, recipe temperature, cook in the preconditioner, and the effect of the barrel back-pressure valve

THERMAL TWIN

Removing Product Barriers
Our Thermal Twin Extruders remove product barriers and allow industry innovation by creating a new energy source through the increased use of steam injection.

  • Angled steam injector ports oriented in the direction of material flow
  • 4x more steam injection into extrusion zones
  • Up to 12% steam injection evenly distributed over the length of the barrel
  • 14:1 thermal to mechanical energy ratios
  • Operating costs nearly equal to single screw technology
Non-Conventional Products
Testing of Thermal Twin technology has consistently yielded products with more than 90% cook when the same products extruded on conventional extruders had cook values in the 80s. Yet, there has been no change in product density or palatability.

FORMING EXTRUDERS

Forming Extruders
Low shear, sanitary and thermally efficient single screw forming extruders are designed for the production of many delicately formed and shaped food products. For flaked cereals, the forming extruder receives material from the twin screw extruder, while jacketed barrels and hollow flight screws permit cooling of the cooked material to form cereal beads suitable for flaking.

About us

Company details

1935
Our grandfathers Joe and Lou found the Wenger Mixer Company in the midst of the infamous “Dust Bowl” that ravaged American farms. To aid their fellow farmers, the Wenger brothers created a breakthrough grinder-blender system that added molasses to low-value roughage, providing desperately needed cattle feed. And an industry is born.

2018
Wenger remains true to our heritage of innovation, shaping the industry’s future at engineering, manufacturing, research and administrative facilities in Sabetha, Kansas. With offices in Kansas City, Brazil, Turkey, Belgium, India, Taiwan and Beijing, Wenger is truly a global company. Today, we remain a family-owned business committed to groundbreaking innovation.
