As a pioneer in non-destructive in-line seal inspection for flexible packaging, we presents a new tray inspection demonstrator at Interpack 2020. The inspection solution uses hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology and appropriate image processing algorithms to detect contaminations in the seal of trays with printed plastic foils. These contaminations are invisible for traditional vision-based systems, but can be detected by a hyperspectral camera. Typical applications are the in-line inspection of trays with meat, cheese and vegetables.
