ADBioplastics is in the TOP 5 of the best-biobased polymer startups in the world

We are in the TOP 5 in the world! We are very proud and no wonder. ADBioplastics has been selected as one of the top 5 biobased polymer startups that have the most impact in the materials sector. Thank you Status Insights for choosing us after an exhaustive investigation in which more than 190 companies have participated worldwide.

We are dedicated to the development and manufacture, to measure, of BIOplastics, the most effective alternative to contribute to a greener planet. Our PLA-Premium product is biobased because it is produced from corn, sugar cane or sugarbeet, biodegradable and compostable, which means that it disintegrates to 90% in just six months, under industrial conditions. A process that will help meet the EU Plastics Reduction Directive set for 2030.

We are not only targeting the packaging sector (food and cosmetics), but we have also set our sights on two more sectors: building, profiles, and very especially, in the 3D printing sector for the manufacture of filaments. Our product has very clear competitive advantages compared to base PLA such as high printing speed, impact resistance, and printability.

ADBioplastics will give a pitch in the Bio-Stars session of the World Bio Markets with companies such as L´Oréal, BASF, Dupont or H&M

The great world meeting about bioeconomy will take place from March 23 to 25 in Amsterdam. ADBioplastics will also be an exhibitor with a modern stand (A1) located in the main building.

The great world meeting about bioeconomy is coming soon. The organization of the World Bio Markets, which will take place from March 23 to 25 in Amsterdam (Netherland), has announced the speakers of this edition. The European Commission, L'Oréal, BASF, Dupont, H&M or C&A, among others, will attend this two-day conference cycle. These are the most relevant companies and organizations on the world scene and those most committed to reducing emissions of greenhouses gases in the atmosphere to prevent the progressive warming of the Earth. Next to them will be ADBioplastics because this Valencian startup has been chosen among the best to participate in the Bio-Stars session, which will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. and the speaker for pitching will be Manuel Suárez, CEO of the company. “We are very proud that they have chosen us. We will be in front of investors such as ING, Rabobank, SC Ventures, BDI Holding GmbH, Capricorn and Anterra capital. Our PLA-Premium product brings a lot of value to society and this deserves a loudspeaker to the sustainable world”, Suarez has said.

Exhibitor at the World Bio Markets 2020

ADBioplastics will also be an exhibitor of the World Bio Markets. In front of the Stand A1 located in the main building, the CEO will be surrounded by the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), José Á. Ramos, and the Project Manager, Iván Navarro. “It is not the first time we will be there. Last year, we were visitors and after analysing its potential, we have decided to come as exhibitors in this edition”, Suarez has explained. The presence of ADBioplastics in this world meeting with the bioeconomy is generating a lot of expectations. During those two days in Amsterdam, the startup will present the advances in bioplastics with extrusion-thermoforming, injection, and injection blowing for different sectors.

World Bio Markets is the only event that focuses on the commercialization of the bioeconomy connecting brands and retailers across the entire value chain. The goal is to drive change through commercially viable innovation and being sustainable with the planet. In this edition will attend 600 attendees, 200 companies and up to 100 speakers. Come and visit us at our Stand A1. We will be waiting for you!

ADBioplastics attends the 14th European Bioplastics Conference in Berlin as an exhibitor with BASF, NatureWorks, and Novamont, among others

After the success of the last edition, this congress is consolidated as the leading business platform to boost the global bioplastics industry.

The debate on the future of bioplastics starts tomorrow in Berlin (Germany) and ADBioplastics will not miss the appointment. This is the 14th edition of the European Bioplastics Conference, organized by European Bioplastics Association, which will take place on December 3 and 4 at the Titanic Chaussee Hotel in the German capital. As exhibitors of the leading business platform to boost the global bioplastics industry, ADBioplastics will share space with BASF, the leading multinational in the chemical industry, NatureWorks, North American manufacturer of PLA, Novamont or ITENE, among others. At the head of the startup stand will be the entire technical department, José Ángel Ramos, CTO, and Iván Navarro, Project Manager, both PhDs in materials and polymers, as well as the CEO of the startup, José Manuel Suárez.

With all the EU regulations for 2030, the intense debate about the future of traditional plastics has opened up many opportunities for bioplastics. That is precisely where the biobased and compostable PLA-Premium product is framed, which manufactures custom ADBioplastics, to promote the circular economy. This startup focuses on three sectors: food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals by extrusion-thermoforming, injection, and injection blowing techniques.

Speakers in the European Bioplastics

During these two days, this Congress will host keynote speakers. Werner Bosmans, DG Environment of the European Commission, will talk about European politics and bioplastics in the circular economy; Clément Affholder, Innovation Manager of VAUDE, will address bioplastics from the perspective of a brand owner and Carmen Arndt, Project Coordinator at IfBB, who will focus on the challenges of bioplastics in marine biodegradability. This event will serve to address the main challenges facing the planet: manufacturers, brands, policymakers, institutions, and NGOs.

In the last edition, the 13th European Bioplastics Conference, there was an attendance record with a total of 420 participants from 255 companies and 45 different countries. All of them could catch up with the latest trends and developments in the bioplastics industry throughout the value chain. Come and visit us at our stand!

Iván Navarro, Project Manager at ADBioplastics: “At the K 2019 trade fair, manufacturers were desperately looking for biodegradable solutions”

ADBioplastics takes stock of its passage through the K 2019 trade fair, which took place from October 16 to 23, interviewing Iván Navarro, Ph.D. in materials and Project Manager of this startup. Considered the number one of the plastics and rubber industry, K 2019 has hosted 225,000 visitors from 168 countries and 3,300 exhibitors for 8 days. Without a doubt, it has exceeded all the expectations.

Q. How would you summarize this K 2019 fair edition?

A. If I had to make a headline it would be “desperate search for biodegradable alternatives”. Besides, there was much confusion with the biodegradable and compostable terms among the plastic transformers themselves. More information and education is needed before the European regulations of 2030

Q. What kinf of information?

A. Many visitors told us that they had bought bio-polyethylene because it was biobased, but they were surprised when it did not biodegrade later. If the plastic users themselves get confused, something is wrong.

Q. The K fair is a worldwide reference. Precisely in this edition has hosted 225,000 visitors from 168 countries, how are the regulations beyond the European Union?

A. In many countries, legislation is very restrictive. In Ecuador, Peru, and even Mexico, they have already banned single-use, as well as in India. The majority of visitors from those countries were looking for alternatives to supply the market.

Q. What have been the nationalities which most sought the startup ADBioplastics?

A. We have been very surprised by the number of Indian visitors who have come to our stand interested in our product, PLA-Premium. Other nationalities that have also visited are those mentioned above for the new regulation, as well as potential German clients because the fair was held in Düsseldorf (Germany).

Q. What was the star product of the fair?

A. Undoubtedly, biodegradable bags, and single-use for the global restriction.

Q. And from ADBioplastics, what have you presented specifically?

A. In our case, we have presented the bioplastic advances with extrusion-thermoforming, injection, and injection blowing for different sectors such as food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical.

Q. To sum up, how was the fair for ADBioplastics as a startup?

A. It has been apotheosis. Our PLA-Premium product, with improved properties, has revolutionized the bioplastics market and everyone wanted to exchange business cards for future business. We have returned with about 700 cards between manufacturers and investors since we are in a round of financing. So, no doubt, we will repeat in the next edition of 2022.

During the 8 days of the fair, this event has hosted 3,300 exhibitors from 63 countries. All have shown the commitment to sustainability and the use of sustainable materials, saving resources and improving recyclability processes.
